About department

History

Department of Robotics and Engineering Tools of Automation (R&ETA) Institute of Industrial Engineering after A.Burkitbayev was established in 1991 when Department of Robotic systems and complexes was as a part of Faculty of Automation and Control systems for educating for the preparation of system engineers majoring “Robotic systems and complexes”.

Preparation of engineers this specialty began in 1988. In 2001 Department of Mechatronics and Robotics was established.

Then, Department of Electronics, mechatronics and robotics was established in June 2002 by the merger of the Department of Mechatronics and Robotics, the Department of Electronics and computational equipment and some of the teaching staff from the Department of Physics.

The indicated Department in 2007 was renamed to the Department of Robotics and Engineering Tools of Automation.


Ph.D., professor K.S. Ivanov had been headed the Department from 1991 to 1999.


The Department was newly organized and had been headed from 2001 to 2013 by academician of NEA RK, Kazakhstan National Academy of Natural Sciences, Ph.D., professor K.S.Sholanov.
From the beginning of 2013 year the Department has been headed by Ph.D., associate professor K.A. Ozhikenov.


Purpose and Tasks

The purpose of the Department is a realization of educational activity based on increasing scientific and pedagogical qualifications of teachers, implementation of modern educational technology training, permanent maintenance of the consumers of education services that meet international standards of education.


Tasks :
1. Creating the necessary conditions for quality education in chosen specialty, aimed at the formation, development and professional formation of the person on the basis of national and universal values, the achievements in science and its practice.
2. The implementation and effective use of new technologies in education, contributing to the rapid adaptation of vocational education to the changing labor market needs and helping each student to use their personal potential as much as possible.
3. Creating conditions for advanced training of Professorial and Teaching Staff and Educational and Support Stuff.
4. Strengthening the Department public face.
